As a young band with only a handful of singles and an EP, London rockers Yuck have already shown themselves to be impressively versatile. Although they tend toward the pedal squall favored by so many other indie rock bands these days, they’re not afraid to write a stark piano ballad or an acoustic lullaby: at times they seem to be channeling Elliot Smith as much as My Bloody Valentine. The band’s self-titled debut for Fat Possum should prove whether Yuck can capitalize on a year of good press and manage its many faces into a cohesive whole.  Realase Date: February 8, 2011.
